Innovation in Performance Management
Metrics Business Operations
Most organizations produce at least minimal operating metrics on a recurring basis. Some create more than others, and many find little or no value in traditional performance metrics.
Unfortunately, most organizations only generate the operating metrics required for basic compliance or adherence to internal policies or directives. Most of us have seen examples of historical metrics reports gathering dust in binders on some forgotten bookshelf. Those with good intentions that invested in projects to create performance and risk metrics have often been disappointed and were left with little to show for their efforts beyond basic scorecards that were either ignored or never seen.
It's time to change the broken cycle of traditional organizational metrics with an innovative new approach to operational performance management using fractal analysis.
The Challenge
Today's organizations are complex and multifaceted. Stakeholders at all levels need access to timely and accurate information involving people, process, and technology to proactively and effectively drive desired outcomes. One of the greatest difficulties in accomplishing this daunting challenge is to adopt a comprehensive, consistent, and aligned approach that everyone in the organization uses to monitor and manage operational performance and risk. Without a defined approach to achieve success, desperate leaders are forced to rely on heroic efforts which are often limited and unsustainable. Organizations need an extensive, well-defined, and repeatable operational method of aligning and managing strategy, execution, production, governance, focus, and engagement.
