eDiscovery Challenges
Data growth is exploding. IDC estimates that in 2025, the world will create and replicate 163 zettabytes of data, representing a tenfold increase from the amount of data created in 2016. Organizational data is being stored everywhere. As a result, many organizations have significant gaps in their eDiscovery capability.
To fill these gaps, Information governance has to mature beyond the first model of journaling, archiving, backup, and discovery. The world of "inside the firewall" and "outside the firewall" is over. We have to think in terms of information lifecycles and protecting the data where it resides throughout that lifecycle. How do we discover, protect, and recall organization owned information regardless of where it is stored?
